In 2015, RefuSHE partnered with Chicago fashion designer Lagi Nadeau to create our handmade jewelry collection. Nadeau traveled all the way to Nairobi, Kenya to work with our artisans one-on-one and design a one-of-a-kind jewelry line incorporating a unique blend of Nadeau’s style and our artisans' hand-dyed fabrics. Like our other products, your jewelry purchase contributes directly to the wages and education of each young woman in the artisan collective.
Impact: Your purchase contributes directly to the wages of each woman—100% of proceeds are reinvested into the young refugee women in RefuSHE's artisan collective. All fabric is hand-dyed using a traditional African dyeing technique called resist dyeing. Because every piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind, the pattern or color may vary slightly from the photos here. Each product comes with a tag with the name and country of origin of one of our artisans, as well as the story of the collective.
Materials: Cotton/rayon fabric, brass textured chain and brass fine chain, lobster claw closure
Dimensions: Drop measures approximately 15 in.
Care Instructions: This piece is hand-crafted and requires delicate handling. We recommend gently wiping the metal with a soft jewelry cloth as needed and storing in a jewelry box after each wear.
